The outstanding design and excellent workmanship are the hallmark of the Xperia Tablet Z2 of Sony, the new tablet of the Japanese company. With a thickness of only 6.4 mm and weight of 426 grams, the new 10.1 inch Xperia Tablet Z2 is one of the few models with Android OS that is thinner and lighter than the iPad Air. Therefore, it competes on an equal footing with the Apple product both in the feeling that it leaves by holding it and the ease of use and transportation. With the additional advantage over the iPad that it is more protected from all sorts of dangers since it is waterproof and resistant to dust and scratches.
On the other hand, the Z2 screen has a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixel and pixel density of 224 ppi, consistently underperforms sharpness of the iPad and other leading Android tablets. At the same time, however, ensures wide viewing angles and brightness enough, which is good even outdoors. Also it incorporates technology Live Colour LED of the Japanese company, which makes the colors look more vivid, without losing the naturalness and look overcrowded. Thus, in combination with stereo speakers, which are loud enough, it makes the perfect tablet for multimedia playing.
It is also ideal for any demanding application and game, which owes it to the quad core processor Snapdragon 801, clocked at 2,3 GHz and the RAM memory 3 GB. The two subsystems ensure the Z2 top speed, and with them Sony managed to fit in the ultrathin tablet a fairly large battery of 6000 mAh, causing the device to be doing quite well in terms of autonomy. Thus, it can play video up to 8 consecutive hours, a performance which means that, under typical use conditions, it will stay on for at least two 24 hours unplugged. Time may be extended even further by saving features devised by Sony, like Stamina Mode.
Upon activation, the tablet is immediately upgraded to the latest version of the OS of Google, which is associated with widgets and apps from Sony. Having slots for microSD cards, it comes in versions with storage of 16 or 32 GB, as with connectivity to 4G networks, besides Wi-Fi. From the Z2 are also not missing the GPS, infrared receiver, the NFC and support Bluetooth and DLNA. The accessories are complemented by two cameras, resolution 8 and 2,2 Megapixel respectively, which cover the above requirements that one has from a tablet for taking photos and videos.
