Bike Bandit: One Stop Shop For OEM Motorcycle Parts

0

Let’s get straight to the point, big box retailers simply don’t know the industry the way that enthusiasts do. There’s nothing better than knowing that your retailers cares about your parts and your bike the same way that they care about their own.

BikeBandit.com also has the best motorcycle tires that money can buy, and the best tires for budget-friendly buyers as well. It’s not the same as heading to a local department store and grabbing a tire off the rack. We’re an all-in-one website that runs off of know-how, and is stocked with the best parts for your bike.

OEM parts are top of the line. We also offer aftermarket parts, but there’s a big difference—we understand what’s best for your make and model. Most shops stock aftermarket parts claiming they’re as good as the real thing. Depending on some brand exceptions, aftermarket parts are absolutely not the same thing, and we understand that. Aftermarket parts are for those with a tight and narrow budget, or who just want to get the last of their good ride on their failing bike.

OEM parts bring your bike back to life by revitalizing core components that help the rest of your bike run the way it’s supposed to. You wouldn’t replace one part of your pipe with a cardboard tube, right? That’s a band aid solution that does nothing more than give you the illusion that you’re better off. OEM parts are like finding the key to the lock; use the right key, get the result you want.

For the best motorcycle OEM parts, there’s one place to get it all—grab your accessories and browse our extensive catalog of items, including all the things you never knew you needed for your bike, at BikeBandit.com

How the Cycle to Work Scheme has inspired people taking up cycling

0

The launch of the Cycle to Work scheme was hailed by many as a way of helping people get fitter, save money and help reduce the country’s carbon footprint, but some also poo-pooed it as something that wouldn’t work. In fact, the former was right. More than 500,000 people have signed up to the Cycle to Work scheme since it was launched, including 23,000 employers and more than 2,000 bike retailers.

All in all, the Cycle to Work scheme has reduced carbon emissions by more than 133,000 tonnes of CO2 —equivalent to a city of 24,000 homes. With almost 90% of the participants claiming that their health has improved and almost as many saying it was a very easy way to keep fit, the benefits are clear for all to see. In fact, almost two thirds of Cycle to Work participants didn’t cycle to work before the scheme was launched, with almost three quarters saying they were only novice cyclists beforehand, showing a huge increase in the number of new cyclists —all thanks to the Cycle to Work scheme.

Some people have said that the boom in cycling would have happened anyway, but in fact more than three quarters of participants said that if it had not been for the Cycle to Work scheme, they would not have gone out and bought a bike anyway, so the scheme can rightly take the credit for launching Britain’s cycling boom. Most tellingly, 98% of respondents said they would actively encourage their colleagues to take part in the scheme, which helps employees and employers alike.

Indeed, the tax breaks and financial savings are very enticing for people on both sides of the employer/employee divide, with further savings to be had when you consider the fact that not using your car will save you money on fuel, insurance, repairs and potentially even road tax, should you decide to ditch the car altogether. The health benefits are clear to see, too, with no need to subscribe to expensive gym memberships and being able to keep fit very easily, whilst commuting to work at the same time. All of these benefits have contributed to the huge success of the Cycle to Work scheme and the rise in the popularity of cycling right across the country, which will continue to make the people of Britain fitter, more environmentally friendly and save money at the same time.

Why Taking a Portable Generator on Your Road Trip is the Best Decision You’ll Ever Make

0

Making the decision to head out on a road trip, whether it’s for one week, one month or one year, is a hugely exciting experience no matter how young or old you are, as is the idea of exploring unknown places, whether that’s at home or abroad. From deciding what clothes to pack, how much food you’ll need to take and whether you’re covered by your current motor insurance abroad, there are a huge amount of considerations and preparations you simply must think about.

No matter if you’re a weathered adventurer or you’re setting off on your very first road trip, there are always items you’re going to forget, but one thing you simply must not overlook is a portable generator. A portable generator is just that – portable – and takes up very little room when travelling around. As well as this, they have a whole host of practical uses – here are just a few:

Practicalities

Whether you’re sleeping in a tent or you’re in something a little more luxurious, like a campervan, there are certain things that will make a road trip just that little bit easier. From hair dryers to portable freezers, a portable generator will allow you to power all of those essentials you simply cannot go without. Being able to generate power for a portable freezer or fridge will mean that you can travel around more freely and eradicate the worry of having to plan your days around finding food and drink.

Entertainment

A portable generator, like the ones sold by SGS Engineering, are a necessity if you want to use any sort of electrical items whilst you’re away. If you are road tripping for longer than a week or two and especially if you’re camping or spending the night in the middle of nowhere, then you’ll no doubt go a little mad if you’re left with no entertainment. A portable generator can power a television set and a radio, allowing you to catch up on your favourite shows or news whilst you’re away.

Keep in Contact

Modern technology is everywhere these days, and whilst you may want to appear the reckless, un-contactable type, especially if you’re travelling alone, at some point you’re going to want to let someone know you’re okay. As well as this, it’s important for emergency purposes too. A portable generator gives you the opportunity to charge your phone, but it’s entirely up to you whether you switch it on.

Before you hit the road, ensure you spend time researching which generator will suit the jobs you want it to do, as well as emitting little or no noise when you’re using it.

How To Protect Your Car From Stormy Conditions

0

Southern California is a classic car owner’s paradise.  There are some neighborhoods where almost every driveway has cars covered with premium car covers.  Of course, there are millions of classic car owners around the world who do not live in such ideal weather conditions.

What is the best car cover material to protect your car from rain and snow?  Besides car covers, what else can you do to protect classic cars from inclement weather?

Keep Classic Cars Indoors During Stormy Weather

The best car cover of all is a roof and four walls.  Some classic car owners keep their cars in a garage all year round, but this is an expensive option.  Even if you cannot afford to garage your car all year, consider taking it to a garage during the worst weather.  The ideal place for it is a climate-controlled garage.  Keeping your car parked on frozen ground, even if it is paved, can cause wear and tear.  Besides, when your car is indoors, high winds cannot bother it.

Choose a Stormweave Car Cover

If you keep your classic car parked outdoors on your driveway, the right car cover makes a big difference in protecting the car’s exterior.  Stormweave is one of the most durable materials for a classic car.  Its four layers give the car plenty of protection against rain and moderate winds.  Despite its name, Stormweave is also intended to protect the car from the sun.  Long-term exposure to UV rays can damage a car’s paint job.  Having a sufficiently thick, light-colored car cover can help protect your car from the sun’s rays and heat.

A car cover is very good at protecting your car from everyday sun and rain.  In really severe storms, though, you should store the car indoors.

Hertz goes green with waterless car wash

0

Car rental company Hertz is going green, with a new car washing system that will save them an estimated 130 million gallons of water a year. The eco-friendly car wash was developed by Green Team Partner, LLC. The new system doesn’t just save water, its non-toxic too. Green Team Partner have created  a car wash formula that is biodegradable and hyper-concentrated, meaning an entire car can be washed with only 6 ounces of formula… and no water whatsoever!

E Friendly Waterless Carwash

The car wash solution is sprayed onto the car and molecules inside the formula lift dirt particles off the car’s paint. The whole process takes just 8 minutes. At the end, a microfiber towel is used to wipe the dirt off the car and another towel is used to polish.  As so little product is needed, the new car wash system has decreased shipping costs by 79%. Hertz has plans to install the new car washing system in 200 stores, then they collect feedback. If the feedback is all positive, Hertz will expand the new system to more than 3,700 facilities across Europe and the US.

Going green makes perfect sense: not only will the car wash system help the environment; but it will save the company millions of pounds in shipping and energy costs. Hertz has a reputation of offering low cost car rentals and saving money on car cleaning means Hertz can keep passing their savings onto the customer. The chairman and chief executive of Hertz has said that they have one of the biggest fleets of cars in the world. This means a lot of time and energy goes into keeping them all clean, not just all the water that is used, but the energy it takes to heat and treat the water before it can be used.

With the new waterless car washing system, Hertz can reduce the amount of energy needed to wash their large fleet, which helps the environment and cuts unnecessary costs at the same time. Perhaps a lot of big businesses would go down the environmentally-friendly route if they knew it could save them money. Hertz is also giving many of its facilities a green make-over, switching to LED lights and using solar energy systems to power some of its facilities. The company also wants to give customers the option of hiring an eco-friendly car, which is good news for customers and great news for planet earth.
